Rockers and Rollers

Another mom and I are organizing a play group for non-walkers with Down syndrome (aka Rockers and Rollers). We've put a lot of hours into planning this group. After watching the children interact, I realized it was worth all the hours! It is too cute to watch their personalities. If I was to predict Emerson's personality....I would say she is going to be a fun loving, happy, flirty girl! She can put a smile on anyone's face!!

No More Human Preztel

Children with Down syndrome have flexible joints and are able manover body limbs very freely. This unique characteristic is not always good while developing! Emerson now is wearing pink pants to help keep her legs together. She is not crazy about them, but does love the color!!! It's kind-of cute watching her try to figure out what is wrong with her legs. Thankfully, she only needs to wear them for around 2 hours a day.

Happy Daddy Day

Little E and her Superhero, Daddy!

Happy First Daddy Day- You're the BEST!

Pool Parties

Emerson started swimming lessons last week and has been having a blast. Her favorite part of swimming is kicking her legs. She had a lot of practice this weekend because she went to 2 pool parties. Travis thought I was kidding when I told him how well she was doing, now he has no doubts. I believe we have a little fish on our hands!!!

Make 'M Smile

This morning our family went to Make 'M Smile at Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando. This event was put on by Natanial's Hope, an organization that supports Children with Special Needs. The VIP children (SN kids) were treated like Rock Stars!! They were each paired up with a buddy to cruise the event with. Emerson was lucky enough to walk with her very good friends and neighbors, Gwen and Sara. Gwen and Sara treated Emerson like a princess and made sure she received every free item, took a picture with every character, and met tons of new friends.

I was taken back by the amount of support our comminuty has for Children with Speical Needs. This event was absolutely amazing and made children feel so special. I can't wait for Emerson to enjoy this event for many more years to come! Today reminded me of how very blessed our family is to have our precious angel!
