Memorial Day Weekend

Our family had a great Memorial Day weekend at the lake house. Emerson invited some of her favorite friends including her boyfriend, Will. As you can see, she can't keep her hands off of him!! :-)

Orlando Science Center

One of Team Emerson's prizes from last years Buddy Walk were tickets to the Orlando Science Center. Yes, Emerson was a little bit young to enjoy most of the exhibits but we still had a fun time. We'll have to go back when she gets a bit older.

Sweet Swinging

You can't get more sweet than this; Emerson and her daddy! Simply heartwarming :-)

Mother's Day

We had a full day of celebrating with lots of family members. I think that Emerson's favorite part of the day was spending time with her cousin Austin. Austin and Emerson sat and played on the floor and even did a little bit of dancing. We can't wait to watch them grow up and see their personalities flourish!

Make a Statement!

Official Emerson's Entourage Down Syndrome Awareness bracelets are in! Hey, it might be 94 degress outside, but you are sure to be the coolest kid on the block if you are sporting the latest fashion accessory to hit the scene. There's no doubt you have heard all the buzz around town surrounding Emerson's Entourage. Now you can show the world that you are in on the know. The cool blue and fighting lady yellow bracelets are being sold at an astonishing low price of a mere $5. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Emerson's Entourage Buddy Walk team. All the money raised in the Buddy Walk directly benefits the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida. (Here is the link to Emerson's Team page incase your hard drive crashed recently: http://www.firstgiving.com/process/teamarea/default.asp?did=1863&teamid=68192)

A huge thanks to Kristan Priske for heading up the bracelet project and bringing it to fruition.

If you would like to purchase a bracelet please send a quick message to Lauren at lkforster@yahoo.com or me (Travis) at froscht@aol.com and we'll take care of the shipping and handling. =) Or you can stop by Red Bug Elementary.

Thanks again and we look forward to seeing those bracelets making their way around.

In the Clear

Emerson is officially off monitor status at the cardiologist. YAY!!!! Yesterday, we went to her follow up appointment and everything went perfect. Dr. Fleishman actually ordered an Echo last minute because her heart beat was so soft. He wanted to double check that fluid wasn't surrounding her heart to muffle the sound. Thankfully, the heart beat was soft because of the beautiful repair!
Emerson is SUPER excited that she can finally test out her floating raft that the Easter Bunny brought her!!

Straw Cup

Emerson has started the process of learning how to drink from a "big girl" cup. We learned about a SIP TIP cup from a Down Syndrome Clinic we attended a few months ago.
The cup has a special valve in it that allows the water to stay in the straw once it is sucked. The special mouth piece keeps Emerson's tongue inside her mouth while she takes a drink. We've been advised to use this cup rather than a sippy cup to build up tongue muscles for future eating!

Emerson is still learning. She's not sure why this water stuff doesn't taste like milk!?!?!

Suck

Swallow

Wanting some more!

Emerson's first boat ride in Daddy's boat. She was so excited, she fell asleep.
