Busy....Busy.....Emerson!

This weekend we took Emerson to her first theme park, Sea World! Travis and I thought that it would be a good place for Emerson to visually explore. She was really good and seemed to have a lot of fun!

Time to eat but mom HAD to take a picture!

Having fun at Sea World

Emerson's evaluation at Early Steps went just as expected. She is still having trouble with holding up her head while on her stomach, so they recommended that Emerson start physical therapy. We fully agree with that decision! Emerson is due to start physical therapy in the next 2 weeks. We have been working very hard on this development, but of course we are open to new ideas! Emerson works so hard and we continue to see a lot of growth and progress!
*Her other results came back looking great! Her verbal skills were very high....looks like we might be in trouble! :-)

Emerson doing very well with her head in the Bumbo.

She's had enough. I don't know if I should laugh or cry at this face?!?!

She's discovered her legs and loves to walk (surf) around.

Always up for a stroller ride but don't forget the Nuk-Nuk!

Mark your calendars!!!!

Today we received the information for the 2009 Buddy Walk. The Buddy Walk will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2009 at Lake Eola. Team Emerson earned 2nd place last year after only having 7 days to prepare. Travis and I are hoping to earn 1st place this year because we will have many months to round up as many people as we can!!! We appreicate everyone who particpated this past year.....we look forward to a wonderful turn out in 2009!

Pictures from today's photo shoot:

Tomorrow Emerson has her "almost" 4 month assessment with Early Steps. Early Steps is a state funded early intervention program. She will be assessed in all areas of development to determine what services (if any) she qualifies to receive. It will be a long morning but we are extremely anxious for the results!

3rd Cardiologist Appointment

Today Emerson had her third appointment with Dr. Fleishman. Before we meet with the doctor we complete routine assessments like weight gain, height, saturation levels, blood pressure, etc. Our little porker has put on 7 ounces in a week. She is weighing in at 12 pounds 8 ounces and measuring at 23 1/2 inches. Her saturation levels were in the range of 92-95. Both of these assessments are vital in determining how well Emerson's heart is working. Emerson also had an Echocardiogram to give us all a better look at what her heart is currently doing. Dr. Fleishman believes that Emerson will not experience heart failure due to the pressure gradient. The vessal wall is thickening to prevent blood accumulation. This is what Dr. Fleishman expected to see during her echo, which is a good thing. At this point we are looking at April for surgery. He has given us hope that we will be out of the hospital after a week if all goes well. It is amazing how quickly these little babies can recover from such invasive procedures.

Go Gators!

I had to get this on camera! Growing up in Tallahassee, I never thought I (or my child) would be wearing orange and blue! Emerson and I sure did make Daddy happy!!! Emerson cheered the Gators on until half time and then was off to bed. She was very happy this morning to hear that they WON and are now National Champions!!

Just to show how big Emerson is getting. We went for Emerson's monthly synogis shot yesterday and she is weighing in at 12 pounds 1 ounce! She is getting rolls on her legs....too cute!

Ringing in the New Year!

Emerson is already enjoying 2009. This weekend Travis and I loaded up Emerson for her first day at the park. We walked around the park once before attempting the playground. Before we even got to the playground gate, Miss Emerson was sound asleep. She had a beautiful nap while Travis and I walked around the park!

Emerson is wanting to sit up so bad these days. I think that she is getting really bored with lying on her back. I placed her in her Bumbo seat today to see how she liked it. She enjoyed sitting up but those cheeks keep weighing her little face down. :-) We're still working on holding up our head!!!

Emerson is chatting all the time now. I absolutley love it!! In this picture she was working on her gu and ga's. She loves talking to Miss Molly (our cat)but Miss Molly only looks at her like she is crazy.

Emerson has offically retired from her Newborn net in the bathtub. She now gets to splash Daddy and the floor! I'm hoping to get her in swimming lessons before too long!
